I’ve mentioned on this blog before that my friends Mallory and Scott are The Rough and Tumble. They travel around the Midwest and Northeast playing small venues and living rooms with a strange medley of chord organs, tiny pianos, glass jars and baby kick drums. They use these things to make music that sounds like this.
A few weeks ago, they played their inaugural Nashville living room show. I was pleased to host it in my tiny house. And after a few hours of cleaning the floors, moving furniture into the office, lighting candles and setting up a stage, they put on two hours of music, poetry and dramatic readings. They even provided gluten-free cookies. Here are a few shots that Daniel took:

This is Mallory and Scott’s set-up. You’ll see a lot of weird things they use as instruments, plus a beautiful guitar, and beautiful fabrics.
Most of the 40 people who attended agreed that it was a magical night. Thanks to The Rough and Tumble for letting me be a part of something special, and thanks to all of the people who came out and supported us. Now go forth and download Mallory and Scott’s new EP.
